Issue 28: June 2022
Dear colleagues
Welcome to issue number 28 of the FIDIC CEO’s Update, my regular round-up of the latest FIDIC ecosystem activities, initiatives and events.
Introduction
Last month, I talked about the welcome return to face-to-face events and meetings across our industry and, if my experiences over the past four weeks are anything to go by, then then it certainly looks like in-person gatherings are becoming the ‘new normal’. I have been fortunate to have visited Africa (FIDIC Africa conference) and North America (ACEC Convention), Paris (EFCA board) and Singapore, where the FIDIC board met for its first in-person meeting for two years. The common theme from all these meetings was how delighted people were to be meeting each other face-to-face and networking once more after the challenges of the past two years.
I am looking forward to more in-person meetings over the coming months, with the FIDIC Credentialing management and certification boards meeting in July and of course our flagship FIDIC Global Infrastructure Conference and General Assembly Meeting taking place in Geneva in September. I hope to be welcoming as many of FIDIC’s member associations and stakeholders to Switzerland in three months’ time for what should be an excellent event for the whole industry (see details below). To avoid missing out, make sure that you book your place soon and let’s make this important global gathering of the construction and infrastructure sector one to remember!
